The EDGE
This was the first MILSIM based airsoft event in the Wichita area. Wichita Airsoft was growing and was in need of a larger scale game that possessed various objectives and made teams focus on team work to achieve the goals.
The story behind Thunder is that the Nighthawk Corporation was invited into Ebenen by the Ebenen Council in order to help them restore their economy as well as help them with resources. The Nighthawk Corporation, a privately owned and operated general commerce business has supplied countries with food, medical supplies, protection, as well as many other services. However, the company allegedly deals largely in the black market, and reported by unknown sources that the company has supplied rebel armies, militias, terrorists, and other organizations with weapons used against governments. Months after the Nighthawk Corpoartion moved in rumors started that the Nighthawk Corporation started to utilize brutal tactics against civilians and were abusing the original agreement by taking over the small town and using it as a base of illegal operations and weapons sales.
Soon another company was seen in the area conducting training exercises, the Dogs Of War. The Dogs Of War is a privately owned military contract group, a mercenary group. The DOW company advised the media that they were there only for training, but tensions were obviously growing. On October 20th, 2007 war broke out. DOW advised they were carrying out a training excersice when Nighthawk soldiers fired on and killed a DOW soldier. This was the spark needed to ignite a full out war on Ebenen soil.
Each team had mission objectives, which kept everyone on their toes.
Dogs Of War Objectives:
- Had to retrieve photo evidence which was taken by a DOW spy prior to the war breaking out. The spy went missing with no word on his whereabouts.
- They were to retrieve white shipping crates which were used by the Nighthawk Corporation. DOW believed that they contained illegal contraband and wanted to sieze these for proof of illegal arms trading.
- The last objective was to relieve the Nighthawk Corporation of their foot hold in Ebenen. with a bonus mission of capturing John Night.
Nighthawk Corporation Objectives:
- A missing shippment was to be sought out and brought back to base camp.
- A photographer was seen taking security sensative pictures. Seek out this photographer and recover any photos.
- Defend all Nighthawk Corporation property in Ebenen, as well as John Night.
