Wichita Airsoft Squad Competition
May 31, 2008.
The EDGE

The WASC was an event unlike anything game coordinators had done before. This event pitted nine 4-man squads against a common enemy, the Shadow Squads, in eight scenarios. The concept was to show what each squad does best.
Each of the squads participated on the same field, with the same enemy, with same rules, and the same objectives. It was completely up to the squad’s abilities to achieve the goals. There was a wide variety in game-play and style. Some squads were fast and effective, others were slow and methodical, and all had their own strong suits.

Bag Drop
2 squads competed for best time as each had to drop their bag in a white crate inside Firebase Bravo.

Havoc
2 squads competed in gathering up the most of 5 flags sorrounding Firebase Bravo while the flags were defended by the Shadow Squad inside Bravo.

P.O.W.
Each squad had 5 minutes to attack Firebase Bravo, kill Shadow Squad members, and rescue a blindfolded and tied P.O.W.

911 Call
Each squad competed in this best time event where they portrayed police officers. They were tasked with making a home invasion call where they had to acquire targets and save lives.

Lockbox
Squads had to assault the Fort Apache Killhouse and locate white crates with combination locks. Unlocking crates would secure the squads points.

Drug Raid
3 squads had to work together as different agancies work together for the first time in the real world. Each set of 3 squads were provided the layout of Fort Apache Killhouse and formulated a plan to assault the target house, assess threats as they saw them, and find the drugs.

Sniper
Each squad determined their sniper, the other three members were tasked with locating 3 intel packets. The intel provided described which target their sniper had to shoot. Three seperate burms with three seperate colored targets. Not as easy as it sounds when you have a Shadow Squad on your heels.

EOD3
2 squads competed against each other in getting their EOD tech to each of the three bombs to diffuse them before they detonated. Each bomb were worth points so the squads wanted to get their tech through the Shadow Squad lines of defense and diffuse more.
